BLEND | 91% Tempranillo, 7% Graciano & 2% Garnacha
VINEYARDS | Tempranillo vineyards are located in Haro – bush vines of over 30 years on limestone soils. The Graciano is from further southeast the border between Alta and Baja with more alluvial soils. Average yield is 1.5kg per vine.
WINEMAKING | Fermentation and malolactic fermentation in French oak followed by 14 months aging in French oak barrique (40% new) and 30 months in bottle.

"The 2022 Roda is spicy and more Mediterranean, with notes of aromatic herbs and a medium- to full-bodied palate, good ripeness, a moderate (for the year) 14% alcohol, a pH of 3.58 and 5.8 grams of acidity. It has slightly more rustic tannins this year. It calls for food."

“A warmer expression defines the 2022 Roda (91% Tempranillo, 7% Garnacha, 2% Graciano), aged for 16 months in French oak, one-third new. Ripe plum and blackberry unfold alongside tobacco and assertive élevage notes, the oak neatly framing the aromatics. Dry and marked by elevated grip, its notably reactive tannins reflect the warm year, yet freshness and drive remain intact. A modern Rioja that will benefit from time to settle.”

“Deep scents of red and black fruit are at the core of this wine, while licorice root, mullings spices, and toasted cedar frame things up. Lively in focus with solid tannic grip, there’s much to like about the combination of deep berries and plenty of spice. It will improve for several more years and drink well through 2031 and beyond.”
