Bodegas La Horra

2021 Corimbo

BLEND | 100% Tinta del País (Tempranillo)

VINEYARDS | Vines are an average age of 25 years in La Horra and Roa on limestone/chalk soils.

WINEMAKING | Fermentation in a combination of large wood and stainless steel vats followed by 14 months aging in barrel - 80% French oak and 20% American oak.

TASTING NOTES | Vibrant and fruit-driven, offering fresh blackberry and plum alongside subtle aromatic herbs and well-integrated oak. The palate is full and voluminous yet remarkably refined, with caressing tannins and a fresh, fruit-forward core. A long, balanced finish highlights both the wine’s power and its unexpected finesse.

“Aromas of plush dark chocolate, fresh blackberries and touches of graphite, roasted red peppers, fine sweet spices and minerals. Juicy and nicely chewy, with a medium to full body and a long finish. Tightly wound tannins, but there is no hint of over-extraction."

“The 2021 Corimbo was produced with Tinto Fino from vines between 25 and 30 years of age, from small plots in La Horra, Roa and other villages around them, and it fermented in French oak vat and matured for 14 months in oak barrels, 80% French and 20% American. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.72 and 4.9 grams of acidity. It's higher pitched than the 2022 that I tasted next to it: it has an herbal hint that provides freshness, the tannins have a different quality here, and the ripeness is better here."
